Privacy Policy
Last updated October 20, 2026
Forthkin helps you track progress on personal goals and share that progress with friends you choose. This policy explains what information Forthkin stores, who can see it, and how to delete it. If you have questions, email support@forthkin.app.
What Forthkin stores
- Your account: your email address and password. When you sign up or sign in, Forthkin passes your password to our authentication provider, Supabase, which stores it. Forthkin does not store your password itself.
- Your profile: the display name and username you choose.
- Goals: each goal's title, optional description and target, whether it is Shared or Stealth, and whether it is active or archived.
- Subtasks: the text of each subtask and whether it is done.
- Logged time: how long you worked on a goal and when the entry was saved (the time is set by our server). Entries saved with the timer also carry a random session code, used only to stop the same session being saved twice.
- Friends: the friend requests you send and receive, and your friendships.
- Notifications: records of who logged time, sent a request, or accepted a request, and whether you have read them.
- Blocks: the people you have blocked.
- Reports: when you report someone, the reason you choose, any details you write, and a copy of that person's username and display name at that moment.
Stored on your device
- Sign-in cookies, which keep you signed in.
- A cookie holding your browser's time zone name (for example "America/New_York"), so "today" and "this week" match your own clock.
- While a timer is running: its start time, goal, and session code, saved in your browser so the timer survives a refresh or restart. This stays on your device until you finish or discard the timer.
How it is used
Forthkin uses this information only to run the app: to show your goals, totals, and history; to share the activity you choose with your friends; to send in-app notifications; to keep people you have blocked away from you; to review reports; and to answer support requests. Forthkin does not show advertising, does not sell your information, and does not include analytics or tracking tools.
Who can see what
- Only you: your email address, goal descriptions and targets, subtasks, your goal pages and totals, the titles of your Stealth goals, the people you have blocked, and the reports you have made.
- Friends you have accepted: your display name and username; for Shared goals, the goal title with how long you worked and when (including on goals you have archived); for Stealth goals, only how long you worked and when, shown as "a Stealth Goal". They may also get an in-app notification when you log time.
- Someone with a pending friend request to or from you: your display name and username.
- Any signed-in user who types your exact username: your display name and username, so they can send you a request. There is no public list or search of users.
- People you block, and people who block you: neither of you can find, contact, or see the other.
Forthkin has no public profiles or public feeds. Reports are never shown to the person reported. The people who run Forthkin can access stored information when needed to operate the service, review reports, or help you with a support request.
Service providers
Forthkin runs on two providers, which store and process this information on our behalf: Supabase (database and sign-in) and Vercel (hosting the website). Like most online services, they may record technical details such as IP addresses when you use Forthkin.
Keeping and deleting your information
Your information is kept while you have an account. Removing a friend, declining a request, or archiving a goal hides things from view, but some of those records stay stored while your account exists.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: tap your name at the top of the screen, then Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your sign-in account, profile, goals, subtasks, logged time, friendships, friend requests, notifications involving you, and the people you have blocked.
Reports are kept after an account is deleted so they can still be reviewed. A report you made is no longer linked to your account. A report about you keeps the username and display name it recorded. Anything saved in your browser stays there until you clear your browser data. You can also ask for deletion by emailing support@forthkin.app from the address on your account.
Changes to this policy
If Forthkin's data practices change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
